Student and education fair

Télécharger  le programme de l'édition 2011 (français, .pdf)

The range of education and training on offer today is so vast that it seems impossible to make sense of it all. Higher education institutes, universities and private institutions vie with each other in imagination and multiply the diplomas available: how does one sort them all out? How can you choose the right course?

The Student Fair allows you to acquire a more concrete idea of possible choices, in just a few hours and a single location. On their highly professional stands, using many different events, the exhibitors will answer every question from every type of visitor.

From the adolescent still looking for his path to the adult seeking continuing education or training and looking for precise answers, no-one is left out.

In addition, l’Hebdo magazine is providing media coverage for the Fair and presenting a large number of very popular conferences and events on the large stage of its stand. Its programme is always eagerly awaited.

As last year, the practical guide to the Student Fair will be incorporated in that of the Book Fair.

A proven concept – with new tricks

The fascinating programme of events presented by L’Hebdo and on the many stands reflects the dynamic nature of this Fair, the motivation of the exhibitors and the interest of its visitors who will find it lives up to their expectations.

The Student and Education Fair is still the only annual fair in French-speaking Switzerland to allow not only school students but also students in the middle of their studies and working adults to plan their professional career.

The focus is on 15 to 25-year-olds, on extensive links with Geneva’s Department of Public Education, associations of the parents of school students, teachers, etc. – in a nutshell, on the synergy between the main stakeholders.

New features of this 9th Fair

A guest of honour: in future, each edition of the Fair will highlight one establishment or institution in particular which will show its programmes and what it offers in detail and in concrete form.

This year, it will be Hes-so (the University of Applied Sciences, Western Switzerland). The University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO)  is with its 15,000 students the second largest such university in the country. Its six courses are: Design and Fine Arts; Business Management and Services; Engineering and Architecture; Music and Theatre; Social Work and Health. Its 27 schools offer 40 bachelor and 16 master courses and many other further-education programmes.  It forms a high-performing network in the fields of application-oriented research and development with close ties to regional socio-economic structures.

“L’Amphi des étudiants” (Student’s lecture theatre): an area made available free of charge to exhibitors to organise presentations, debates, mini language courses, forums, workshops, etc.

A SPECIAL STUDENT Guide providing good answers to good questions: What career would suit me? How should I plan my visit to get the best from it? Who, among the professionals present, will best be able to give me information?

Les Ateliers du Regard: Active looking as a motor of creation. An exposition presented by the Department of Public Instruction, Culture, and Sport, with the student and their training directly at the Fair. More info >>

A zone devoted to various manual trades. A detailed programme will be found here later.
